Stamford Police Charge Trio In Beating Of Glenbrook Man

STAMFORD, Conn. -- After a verbal clash at a Harbor Point bar early Sunday, three people who felt they had unfinished business followed a man and attacked him in the driveway of his Glenbrook home, police said.

Deena Martylewski, 23, of Scribner Avenue, Norwalk; and a pair of Stratford men, Fernando Cerezo, 21, of Greenlawn Avenue, and Matthew Hellgren, 24, of Clarendon Street, each were charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, police said.

Police said the Glenbrook man who is in his 20s and the three suspects were at The Sign of the Whale when all four got into a verbal argument. 

The Glenbrook man drove home, but the suspects followed him there and then punched and kicked him as he exited his vehicle in his driveway, police said. 

The victim's brother saw the attack and ran out to help him, but he also was punched and kicked by the suspects, police said.

Police did not say what sparked the dispute.
